AMARENA

AMARENA is a dark red beet leaf suitable for year round salad production. AMARENA has even colour throughout the leaf (and on both sides of the leaf) and will not bleed post-harvest as many beets do. It maintains an upright growth habit allowing for ease of harvest. AMARENA is an alternative to Blush having an advantage in that it has a higher tolerance to Pseudomonas (bacterial spotting) during Autumn when this is often a problem in both beets and chards. Like Blush, AMARENA maintains a dark red leaf colour in hot conditions, unlike most older Bull’s Blood types which get a blotchy pattern on the leaf.
