LINUS

A hybrid Waltham type but with a much thicker neck, LINUS provides growers with a much higher yield and an improved pack out due to the greater uniformity in fruit size and shape. With an average fruit weight of approximately 1.7kg, LINUS has the ability to be sold by piece or as a cut product.

Excellent flesh quality is a key feature of LINUS with a deep orange colour and firm texture. A small seed cavity gives a more desirable flesh to weight ratio and improves recoveries for processing. Highly adaptable, LINUS can be grown in a range of growing situations.

Agronomic considerations

The plant should be grown well to establish plant size prior to fruit set.

Planting too late in the season may result in small fruit and inadequate maturation time.
