CULLEN

CULLEN is a mid-green multileaf lettuce that can be harvested for both whole head production (sleeving) and for cut leaf to include in salad mixes. CULLEN has a very high leaf count that creates bulk and good recovery of processed leaves. CULLEN produces an even head with uniform leaves distributed throughout resulting in less wastage of large, outer leaves. Due to its versatility, CULLEN can be grown year round in a range of growing conditions, showing good tolerance to bolting and tipburn during periods of heat. The architecture of the leaves is beneficial for processing with a narrow stem attachment, broader leaf tip and three dimensional structure which seems to handle processing better and fills out salad bags. Under field production CULLEN will produce a more compact head size.
