SABANA is a true summer-harvest iceberg with a wide window which, depending on the area, may stretch from late spring harvest until mid-autumn harvest.
SABANA has a level of vigour suited to variable conditions – enough to keep going in early season cool periods and mild enough to resist bolting in extremely warm, dry heat.
SABANA produces a medium sized frame and a balanced, medium sized head with an even fill and very good uniformity. The frame has a high leaf count for a summer style lettuce and the true Salinas style nature of the wrap makes for an attractive presentation.
SABANA has shown a strong tolerance to sclerotinia pressure and, of particular significance, it has fusarium resistance Fol.(1), a huge advantage in humid areas and on heavy soils.
